REPORT OF MELROSE SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVENTION

The several Sunday Schools in Melrose Township met in convention at Plymouth Church, September 7, 1883.   The following programs were adopted and carried out.

Song, by Union School, from Potters Hall.
Prayer, by Elder Thomas Bailiff.
Song, by Ohio School.
Topic--Why we meet in convention by A.G. Cowden.
Song, by Union School.
The book we study and why we study it, discussed by Rev. F.M. Buckner and Rev. George W. Fisher.
Song, by Ohio School.
Recess.
Topic--The duty of parents to their children and to the Sabbath School, discussed by C.H. Griffith and Rev. Bailiff.
Song by Union School
Topic, Who should be interest in the Sunday School work, discussed by Mrs. Jane Guire.
Song.
Reports of schools in the township and business.
All the Sunday schools in the township made reports and all were represented, some schools were not organized sufficiently to take part in the singing.
Topic, The wants Melrose Township or how to make the Sunday School a success, discussed by Rev. N. Evans.
Song, by Union School.
The contribution to Sunday School fund, $2.29.
The convention was a success and has had a tendency to renew the enthusiasm of those schools that were losing grounds and inclined to be discouraged.
Elder Fisher deserves great credit for his earnestness in the Sunday School Work.
C.H. Griffith, F.M. Buckner and W.H. Buckner were selected by the convention as a committee to assist the vice president, in his work in building up the Sabbath school cause in the township.
